Thailand attacks Cambodia again (8. December 2025)
It is truly unbelievable what kind of theater Thailand has been putting on in the media over the last few days and weeks. Instead of taking care of the problems with the flood damage at home, the country’s supposed leadership has repeatedly come up with the idea of provoking Cambodia in recent days. The Cambodians have again shown astonishing patience and have simply ignored numerous provocations using armed force (and therefore not returned fire).
Why does Cambodia not want war?
Because Cambodia does not want a war with Thailand, as there is simply a huge imbalance of power. This imbalance would lead to Thailand’s military superiority through air power, but such a war would very quickly lead to numerous human casualties on both sides, because air supremacy alone in Southeast Asia – as the war between North and South Vietnam had shown – does absolutely nothing on the ground. Such a conflict could therefore lead to hundreds of thousands of deaths, from which both sides would gain absolutely nothing. A further escalation could also lead to the use of the few long-range weapons that are available. Here, too, air supremacy would be of little use as soon as the missiles were started the losses on both sides would be enormous.
Even in Thailand, there are already numerous voices trying to advocate peaceful solutions, but experience has shown that these voices are unfortunately not often reported in the media.

Why is it definitely a war of aggression?
On December 7, the Thai military called on the population to evacuate large areas and the next morning provoked them with numerous further attacks and ultimately used fighter jets to destroy targets. This was the last red line for Cambodia and Cambodia is exercising its legitimate right to self-defense against the aggressor Thailand.

Thailand reported that Cambodia atttacks the Ubon Ratchathani Airport with rockets but at the same time the airspace is still open:

The alleged missile attacks also does not appear to be preventing the military from flying back from the emergency meeting in Bangkok and landing there: https://www.flightradar24.com/LKY619/3d6a0cc6
How can individuals help?
Numerous new waves of refugees are expected to arrive in the country. The local authorities face challenges in providing for them. Anyone can help locally.
Are you American or Swedish?
Contact your MP and complain about the use of F16 or Gripen fighter jets in Thailand in a war of aggression.
Are you European or from another country?
Write to your MPs and ask why your country is not trying to have a positive impact on the conflict. Mention that you do not understand why your country is supporting an aggressor with arms supplies and demand an arms embargo.
